Steelers in the Field is a fundraiser for Team Buche Cares with the goal of addressing food insecurity among tribal and rural populations. Buche Foods stores serve a large amount of South Dakota’s rural population in Roberts, Lyman, Jackson, Oglala Lakota, Todd, Charles Mix, and Gregory counties. More importantly, they are proud to service all nine reservations in South Dakota which include the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Oglala Sioux Tribe, Yankton Sioux Tribe, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, Lower Brule Tribe and Crow Creek Tribe. 

Team Buche Cares has had many projects that have greatly impacted the communities they serve. In July of 2024, they collaborated with the Ogala Sioux Tribe to launch a Summer Food Program, feeding 28,000 children a lunch and a snack, and ending with 46,900 breakfasts and suppers, each week across the nine districts of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. In December 2024, just weeks following the completion of the inaugural Rooster Roundup, Team Buche Cares distributed 100,000 pounds of turkey to 121 communities, including all nine reservations. This all took place just before the Christmas holiday.

Team Buche Cares understands their ability to make an impact on hundreds of families and are motivated by the positive health outcomes this funding can provide to the communities where our team lives and works.
